This Robot Vacuum extracts water from the air and recycles dirty water into clean water

3i S10 Ultra

Last week, 3i launched their Kickstarter project of the Robot Vacuum S10 Ultra. It has 13,000 Pa suction power, a Dual Anti-Tangle design and the most interesting feature: the WaterRecylce System. This WaterRycycle system is able to extract excess water from the air, condense it and transform it into clean water for mopping. Dust and bacteria are removed in the process. After mopping, it can clean the water by heating it and separating the water from solid waste. This solid waste is pulled into the dustbin, while the clean water is used for the next mopping session. It’s available as Kickstarter project for $1099. Deliveries start in November this year.

Remark: as this is a Kickstart project, delivery of the product is not 100% guaranteed. Kickstarter is a crowdfunding website to fund innovative ideas, not a regular webshop.

Features

The S10 Ultra is of course mainly interesting for its WaterRecylce system, but also has some other interesting features. Here are the main features of the S10 Ultra from 3i:

  • Self-cleaning and high-speed Roller Mop
  • 13,000 Pa suction power
  • Can handle obstacles up to 25mm
  • Integration with voice assistants of Google and Alexa
  • WaterRecycle system, no manual water replacement or drainage needed
  • Roller mop extends to clean edges and corners
  • DirtScan with AI to identify dirt and adjust cleaning mode
  • All-in-one cleaning station with 2,5 liter dust bag for up to 60 days of dust
  • ApexVision dToF LIDAR for vision up to 12 meters for mapping and avoiding obstacles
  • Remote control with live video feed
  • 5200 mAh for 130-180 minutes of cleaning
  • Recharge time of 4 hours

The WaterRecycle system works by heating the wastewater and separating the steam from the dirt. This dirt will be disposed in the bin, while the clean water will be used for mopping. Next, it will extract water from the air to refill the water tank to account for the water used by mopping the floor. This means you don’t need to refill the water tank or empty the wastewater, as the robot vacuum does this automatically. It can take up to 1 hour to handle all wastewater as soon as the robot vacuum returns to the station.

With all these features, the 3i S10 Ultra is a robot vacuum in the premium segment, also given its price of $1899 when regular sales start. Shipping to Kickstarter backers will start in November this year, depending on your location. VAT and taxes will be paid by 3i, but there will be shipping cost, which will be calculated based on your location. At the time of writing, there are 250 backers for the S10 Ultra with 25 days until the end of the campaign. It will ship with a 1-year warranty.
