Today, Aqara launches two new products: a valve controller and a smoke detector. The Aqara Valve Controller T1 is a retrofit valve controller which is able close or open the valve of your main water supply. It can be connected to Water Leak sensors to automatically close the valve in case of a leak. The Valve Controller T1 works over Zigbee with one of the hubs from Aqara. The Aqara Smoke Detector also works over Zigbee, has a 85dB siren and can be grouped with other Smoke Detectors from Aqara. Both products are available immediately on Amazon and local retailers.
Aqara Valve Controller T1
The Aqara Valve Controller T1 can make your current water valve smart. After installing the device, you can open and close the valve from the Aqara app or through a Smart Home platform of choice, as Matter is supported when you connect the Valve Controller T1 to an Aqara Hub. When connected to water leak sensors, you can automatically close the valve in case of a water leak in your home. It’s suitable for DN15, DN20 and DN25 valves with lever or butterfly handles. The device is powered by 4 AA batteries, which last up to 2 years, depending on your usage.
Aqara Smoke Detector
The Aqara Smoke Detector is a Zigbee based device which can be connected to your Smart Home with a hub from Aqara, such as the M3. It has a 85dB siren, while you also will be alerted through the Aqara app when smoke is detected. You can pair all your smoke detectors from Aqara such that the alarm will sound from all of them when smoke is detected in a specific room. It’s battery live is up to 10 years. Matter is supported through a hub from Aqara such that it is compatible with all major Smart Home platforms.
The alarm can be silenced by a press of the button, but also by making a gesture to the Aqara Camera Hub G3. It’s also possible to connect a wireless button to the Smoke Detector to turn of the siren, or use the app.
