Today, Aqara officially released the Aqara U200 Smart Lock. This retrofit Smart Lock fits over your current key or knob on the inside of the door and is suitable for most European en US doors, with Apple Home Key as a unique feature for European users, as this is the first Smart Lock in Europe with this functionality. Features
The Aqara U200 is a retrofit Smart Lock, which means it fits over the key or knob of your current lock and doesn’t need any adjustments to your door. A mounting bracket can be fitted to your door with either a few screws or 3M double-sided tape, after which you can attach the lock onto the mounting bracket. A separate Keypad can be installed on the outside of the house and is powered with batteries or your existing doorbell wires. This keypad allows multiple methods for unlocking the door, such as a passcode, NFC and Apple Home Key. The Aqara U200 Smart Lock is based on Matter over Thread and can be connected to a Smart Home hub with support for these protocols, such as a HomePod mini. The lock can also be controlled over Bluetooth using the Aqara Home app, where you can also adjust settings such as calibration, Auto-Lock, the pull spring feature for European doors with a latch and everything regarding access to your home. Over Bluetooth, the lock can only be controlled locally, while using the latest Matter over Thread hub from Aqara, the Aqara Hub M3, also allows remote control within the Aqara app.

The Aqara U200 is powered by a removable battery with a battery life of around 6 months. It’s rechargable using a USB-C cable. A silent mode feature allows you to silently open or close the lock. On the inside, this is enabled by slowly turning the knob to either position, while on the outside it’s activated by pressing the confirm button on the keypad before locking or unlocking the door.
