Aqara U300 Smart Lever Lock with Matter over Thread and Apple Home Key launched

Aqara U300

Today, Aqara announced the availability of the Aqara U300. This smart lock with an integrated handle is the new addition to Aqara’s growing number of Smart Locks. Like the Aqara U200, it works with Matter over Thread and also Apple Home Key is supported. It’s available at Amazon in the United States and Canada for $229.99/$309,99.

Features

Unlike the Aqara U50, U100 and U200, the Aqara U300 is a smart lever lock and has a handle, ideal for offices and garage doors. As it supports Matter over Thread, a hub like the HomePod mini, Google TV Streamer or any other hub with Matter and Thread support is sufficient to connect the U300 to your Smart Home. If you want to connect it to an Aqara hub, you can choose the Aqara Hub M3. These are the main features of the Aqara U300:

  • Matter over Thread
  • Fingerprint scanner & Keypad
  • Apple Home Key & NFC
  • Powered by 4 AA batteries for up to 10 months battery life
  • Back-up USB-C ports in case of emergency
  • Passage Mode, Do Not Disturb Mode and Auto-Lock mode

The Aqara U300 can store up to 30 fingerprints and can also be unlocked with a PIN code. It’s IPX4 rated, suitable for outdoor use in rainy conditions and a temperature up to -22°F.

The Passage Mode is able to let someone in without any verification. The lock with automatically lock after the first person entered the room. The Do Not Disturb mode mutes the sound of the device for a silent entry.

Compatibility, Availability and Price

The U300 is compatible with US latch locks, is equipped with a 60/70mm latch and is compatible with most wooden doors with a thickness between 35mm – 55mm. It supports all door-opening directions, both inwards/outwards and with the handle on either the left or right side.

The Aqara U300 is available immediately on Amazon in the United States and Canada for $229.99/$309,99. There’s currently no availability announced for Europe. A silver version of the lock will be available later this year.
