The earlier announced 4th generation of the Google Nest Learning Thermostat is now available on Amazon and the Google Store. The Nest Learning Thermostat supports Matter over WiFi, which allows direct integration with all major Smart Home platforms. This means Apple HomeKit is also supported by this thermostat by Google. This 4th generation has a much bigger screen and is available in three colours: Silver, Gold and Obsidian. You can order the new Google Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen at Amazon for $279.99 on Amazon in the United States or $379,99 on Amazon in Canada. Availability in other countries is not yet announced.

There are several updates to this 4th generation thermostat compared to the previous model, both inside and out. Here we mention the main features:

Differences with previous generation
Compared to the previous generation of the Nest Learning thermostat, it’s now equipped with 60 percent larger 2.7 inch screen. It’s now also possible to customize the information shown on the display. Several new features are available, mainly to save energy. This includes natural heating and cooling, Adaptive Eco and other analysis which tries to save energie. There is also a new version of the Nest Temperature Sensor included to manage cold and hot spots in your house.
With the introduced Matter integration, it’s now possible to add the Nest Learning Thermostat to all major Smart Home platforms, including Apple HomeKit. The thermostat connects over WiFi to your Smart Home. Thread is not support, unlike to latest Thermostat from Tado, the Tado Thermostat X (Europe only). The to be released Google TV Streamer, the replacement of the Google ChromeCast, will support both Matter and Thread. Either way, a Matter hub from your favourite platform will be sufficient to connect and control the Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen.

The Google Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen is available immediately in the Google Store and on Amazon in the United States and Canada. In the United States, it’s priced at $279.99, while in Canada you can get this 4th gen thermostat for $379.99. It’s available in three colours: Gold, Silver and Obsidian. Other countries or a European launch is not yet announced.
