IFA 2024: Nanoleaf introduces Blocks and Sense+ Smart Wireless Switch

Nanoleaf Sense+ Smart Wireless Switch

Nanoleaf has announced several new products at IFA 2024 in Berlin. Nanoleaf Blocks is a new lighting product with square light panels which you can connect to each other to create a pattern of your choice. They also announced the Sense+ Smart Wireless Switch which is able to control your Nanoleaf lights in several ways. It even has a build-in motion and light sensor which you can set to control your light automatically. Several new products in the Essentials line are also announced, as well as the Multicolour Permanent Outdoor Lights. Pre-orders are open on the official Nanoleaf website and will ship in September or October.

Nanoleaf Blocks

Nanoleaf is know for their modular lights and the Nanoleaf Blocks are the latest addition to their product range. The squared light panels has edge-to-edge illumination and comes in different sizes. There are also several add-ons available, such as pegboards and shelves, which you can use to place your own accessories. It’s connected to your Smart Home over WiFi. Matter support is also announced as a future software update. At launch, it is already compatible with Google Home, Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings. The Nanoleaf Squares are available as starter kit from $199.99/€199,99 on the official Nanoleaf website. Pre-orders will be shipped at the end of October.

Nanoleaf Sense+ Smart Wireless Switch

The Nanoleaf Sense+ Smart Wireless Switch is the first Remote from Nanoleaf to control your lights. With this Sense+ switch, they offer a wireless switch with in total 6 different buttons: you can turn your lights on and off, adjust the brightness and has two programmable buttons for your favourite scenes. Next, both a Motion and a light sensor are build-in to automatically control your lights. The Sense+ Smart Wireless Switch is powered by a CR2477 battery and Matter will be available via Apple Home and SmartThings.

The two programmable side buttons will be exposed over Matter to e.g. Apple Home and offer up to 6 different actions. This makes it possible to control any device you have added to HomeKit with the Sense+. The other four buttons for on/off and brightness will only control Nanoleaf devices. The unique feature of this switch is the build-in motion and light sensor. The motion sensor can control your lights based on motion, e.g. when you place the remote on your wall. The light sensor can control your lights based on current lighting conditions. You can e.g. turn on the lights automatically when it gets dark in the room or keep the lights off if there’s enough daylight. The NanoLeaf Sense+ Smart Wireless Switch is available for pre-order on the official Nanoleaf website for $29.99/€29,99 and will be shipped at the end of October.

Nanoleaf Multicolour Permanent Outdoor Lights & new Essentials

The Nanoleaf Multicolour Permanent Outdoor Lights are ment to be permanently installed outdoors. This is possible as Nanoleaf has focused on the durability, such that it can withstand outside weather conditions. It has 30 addressable LED pucks with 16+ million colours available. It can be connected to your Smart Home over WiFi or Bluetooth while Matter is also supported. You can attach multiple items for lights up to 45m.

In the Essentials line, Nanoleaf also announced the Matter Smart Multicolour Lightstrip, Matter Smart Holiday String Lights and Matter Wi-Fi E27 Smart Bulbs. Nanoleaf already offered smart bulbs based on Thread, you can now choose between Thread and Wi-Fi. Both versions support Matter.
