New Details Emerge on Aqara’s Outdoor Camera G100 and Doorbell Camera Hub G410

Aqara Doorbell Camera Hub G410

While Aqara launches two new products today, the Aqara Hub M100 and Aqara Climate Sensor W100, there is also some new information available about two upcoming products from Aqara. The FCC database now lists the Aqara Outdoor Camera G100 and the Aqara Doorbell Camera Hub G410. This probably means an official launch is not far away. The G100 will be the second outdoor camera from Aqara, as they launched the G5 Pro earlier this year. The G410 will be the successor of the Aqara G4 Video Doorbell and features a Zigbee and Thread hub, a better field of view and improved 3MP camera.

The Aqara G410 Doorbell Camera Hub is now available on Amazon in both grey and black for €129,99/$129,99/£129,99. You can read all the details in our article about the launch of the Aqara G410. The Aqara Camera G100 is also launched and available in black and white on Amazon for €34,99/$34,99/£34,99.

Aqara Outdoor Camera G100

The Aqara G100 was shown on CES earlier this year, but not officially announced yet. Details on this new camera from Aqara were limited, but the FCC listing makes clear it will be an outdoor WiFi camera, supporting Apple HomeKit. The G100 is a 3MP camera and has a field of view of 140° diagonal. There are two night vision modes: black and white or full-colour. For the black and white night vision, 940nm no red exposure fill light is used. With the spotlight turned on, it can also create color images at night. You can use a MicroSD card for local video storage up to 512GB, but also RTSP streaming and NAS storage is supported. This aligns with the G5 Pro, and means this camera is also easier to integrate in platforms like Home Assistant. The G100 supports WiFi 6 2.4GHz. It’s IP65 rated, and is suitable for temperatures between -10℃ and + 40℃. The Aqara G100 also features a build-in speaker.

Aqara Doorbell Camera Hub G410

There are already quite some details available about the upcoming Doorbell Camera Hub G410, as we’ve written before. The pictures uploaded to the FCC database show no surprises, as it looks very similar to the Aqara G4 Video Doorbell. The main unit still works with 6 AA batteries, can be wired optionally and uses an indoor chime to connect to your Smart Home. New is the mm-wave radar, which replaces the PIR motion sensor of the G4. This should allow better and more precise presence detection. The vertical detection angle is increased from 80° to 120°, the horizontal detection angle will remain 120°. Also new is the build-in Thread and Zigbee hub functionality. The viewing angle increases from 162° to 175° diagonal, while the visual resolution improves from 1080p to 2048×1536. The G410 has a built-in face recognition algorithm which runs locally on-device. This allows users to identify visitors. Like the G5 Pro, it supports RTSP for integration in Home Assistant and other streaming services.

Availability and price

Although both devices are now listed in the FCC database, no official announcements are made on the availability and price. However, it is an indication these devices will launch in the near future, probably in Q2 or early Q3 this year. The Aqara G100 will probably be significantly cheaper compared to the Aqara G5 Pro, as it lacks a Zigbee and Thread hub and more advanced functionality. The Aqara G410 doorbell will probably be slightly more expensive for the same reason, as it adds Zigbee and Thread hub functionality and some improved other features compared to the Aqara G4, like the presence sensor and higher field of view and camera quality.
