Today, Nuki announced the Nuki Smart Lock Ulra. Nuki is one of the most well known smart locks for the European market and renews their current lock with a few new features. It’s now significantly smaller than its previous generation, but also unlocks the door faster. It supports Matter over Thread, so a bridge is not required when you already own a Matter over Thread hub, such as an Apple TV, HomePod, Google Nest 2 or Google TV Streamer. The Nuki Smart Lock Ultra is available for pre-order in the Nuki shop and will be delivered in December.
Features
The 5th generation of the Nuki Smart Lock has a different form factor compared to previous generations, as it’s now significantly smaller. These are the main features of the smart lock:
- Three times smaller than previous generations
- Three unlocking speeds available
- Matter over Thread (support for all major smart home platforms, such as Google home and Apple HomeKit)
- Keypad with or without fingerprint separately available
- Rechargeable build-in battery (2 hours recharge time)
Smaller and Faster
With the Nuki Smart Lock Ultra, Nuki significantly decreases the size of their smart lock. With the included updated universal cylinder, the smart lock will fit most doors, but does need a change of your existing keys. You will still be able to open the door with a physical key as they are delivered together with the Lock Ultra and the Universal Cylinder. Battery life is up to 9 months, depending on the way you connect to your Smart Home (WiFi or Thread). The Nuki Smart Lock Ultra will be compatible with all existing Nuki accessories, except the Nuki Bridge (WiFi module already build-in) and the earlier versions of the Universal Cylinder.

The Nuki Smart Lock 5th generation is available for pre-oder for €349,99 on the Nuki Shop and will be delivered in December.
