SwitchBot announced a range of new products last month and the first two on the list are now available: the SwitchBot Garage Door Opener and the SwitchBot Led Strip Light 3. Both products support Matter and connect to Google Home, Apple Homekit and other Smart Home platforms. A SwitchBot Hub is not required, as both work with Matter over WiFi.
SwitchBot Garage Door Opener
SwitchBot has several relays in their product line, but now adds a dedicated Garage Door Opener. It works with over 200 different brands, both older and newer models. The Garage Door Opener can also connect to two lights on the same circuit, which you can control and monitor. In the SwitchBot app, energy monitoring is available. With Matter over WiFi, you can both connect it directly to the SwitchBot app and your Smart Home platform of choice. It will also work with Apple CarPlay, which shows you a garage door button when you approach home.
Some garage doors will require additional material, which you can request based on the model you own. A door sensor with wire can detect whether you left the garage door open, which triggers a notification to your smartphone. SwitchBot LED Strip Light 3
The SwitchBot LED Strip Light 3 has 3-in-1 RGBCCT lighting. It has RGB, Cold White and Warm White LEDs, 72 per meter. It offers 16 million colors and white tones of 2700K-6500K and up to 1200lm of brightness, depending on the colour. You can dim the lights between 1 and 100% and the SwitchBot app also offers several preset modes. A build-in microphone can synch the lights to your music. It’s IP44 rated and has a lifespan of about 25.000 hours. You can cut the strip every 8cm, while it has a total length of 5 meter. A 3M adhesive is included to mount the strip. With Matter over Wifi, you can directly connect the SwitchBot LED Strip Light 3 to the SwitchBot app or a Smart Home platform of choice, without the need for a SwitchBot Hub. You can also control the strip with the included remote.
