SwitchBot has launched a new product, the SwitchBot Wallet Finder Card. It’s a creditcard sized tag to track your wallet, backpack and other items. It’s compatible with Apple Find My and doubles as a NFC card for a SwitchBot lock such as the SwitchBot Lock Pro. The battery lasts up to 3 years and cannot be recharged. The card only weights 12 gram and can also be used within the SwitchBot app for both Android and iOS users.
Smart Home integration
While this SwitchBot Wallet Finder Card is mainly useful as a tracking device for your wallet, backpack or other items, SwitchBot also found a way to make it useful within your Smart Home. A build-in NFC chip allows owners of a Smart Lock from SwitchBot (and possibly other brands with the same type of NFC functionality) to use this card as a key to your home. This means you automatically have a NFC tag available when you store this device in you wallet. This feature also works when the battery of the SwitchBot Wallet Finder Card dies. While the tracking functionality is not working anymore, users can still make use of the card as a NFC tag for their smart lock.
As the card works over bluetooth, it is also able to detect your SwitchBot Hub when you enter your house. With this feature, you can set up automations based on the arrival of departure of this card within the range of your hub.
