SwitchBot has announced an improved version of their outdoor camera, the SwitchBot Outdoor Spotlight Cam 2K. As the name suggest, it can now record in 2K for better video quality. While the outdoor camera works over WiFi, it’s also possible to switch to the Bluetooth Standby Mode and connect it to a SwitchBot hub to save energy. Solar power and Bluetooth Mode
The build-in 10.000mAh battery lasts up to 180 days based on 10 alerts a day. It can be charged using a USB-c cable (included). With enough sun, it’s possible to combine the SwitchBot Outdoor Spotlight Cam 2K with a solar panel from SwitchBot for year-round battery life. The camera works over WiFI, but can also connect to a hub from SwitchBot, such as the SwitchBot Hub 2. In that case, it will work over Bluetooth, which will increase the battery life up to 100%. With these features, SwitchBot offers multiple options to decrease the number of manual charges necessary.
The Outdoor Spotlight Cam 2K comes with a Type-C cable, alignment sticker, base, adhesive wall mount and screws to place the camera. There’s also a kit available which includes a solar panel.
