SwitchBot has announced the SwitchBot Lock Pro. The new smart door lock from SwitchBot is now available for pre-order and will be shipped by March 31st. SwitchBot offers a €40 discount on the regular price, with additional savings available when purchasing a bundle with a Hub or Keypad. The lock fits over your current key on the inside of the door and is compatible with most locks in Europe.

SwitchBot Lock Pro Features
The SwitchBot Lock Pro is a retrofit lock, meaning it can be used with your current cylinder and keys. The lock can be mounted over the existing key on the inside of the door. SwitchBot indicates support for various types of door locks, including Euro Profile Cylinders, UK Oval Cylinders, Swiss Round Cylinders, and cylinders with a knob on the inside. Additionally, doors with multiple latches and doors with a Euro Profile Cylinder without a lever are supported. However, it is essential to ensure that the lock has an emergency function, allowing the key to be used from the outside when a key is inside the lock on the inside.
Through the Hub Mini, the SwitchBot Lock Pro gains Matter support. This means that the SwitchBot Hub Mini has been upgraded to Matter. This functionality was previously not part of the Hub Mini. Until now, the more expensive SwitchBot Hub 2 was required for this. The Hub Mini with Matter support is not yet available separately, but the hub appears to cost €69.99, which is more expensive than the current SwitchBot Hub Mini. With Matter support, this door lock can be added to all major smart home platforms such as Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings, as well as HomeAssistant.
The door lock can be powered by 4 AA batteries for a battery life of 9 months. A separate SwitchBot Dual Power Pack is also sold, providing a battery life of up to 12 months. The lock can be opened in various ways, including a physical key, the SwitchBot app, apps of different smart home platforms via your smartphone or smartwatch, voice commands, fingerprint, PIN code, and NFC tags.
Availability
Currently, the SwitchBot Lock Pro is only available for pre-order through the SwitchBot website. The lock is expected to be available later through other regular sales channels. Please note that the lock does not support Apple Home Key, unlike the Aqara U200.
