While SwitchBot already offers a smart plug for while in North-America, it never offered a similar product in Europe. This has changed with the SwitchBot Plug Mini (EU). The Plug Mini supports Matter over WiFi, which allows you to connect it to your Smart Home without the need for a SwitchBot hub. It also is able to bridge SwitchBot devices into Matter. It supports Energy Monitoring in the SwitchBot app, doesn’t block other outlets due to its small size and also works over bluetooth. The SwitchBot Plug Mini EU is now available on Amazon and the official SwitchBot website. It’s currently discounted to €13,99, while the official price is €19,99.

The SwitchBot Plug Mini is a smart plug which you can control using the SwitchBot app. It connects either over Bluetooth or WiFi and supports Matter without the need for a SwitchBot hub. In total, the SwitchBot Plug Mini can bridge two devices into Matter. This means you’re able to add the plug itself to Matter, but also one other SwitchBot device without native Matter support, like the SwitchBot Lock Ultra, Curtain, Bot and more. You can also opt to not expose the plug itself and expose two other sub-devices to Matter. If you have multiple Plugs or only a limited number of SwitchBot devices, this functionality allows you to use the plug to bridge your devices to Matter instead of needing a separate SwitchBot hub.
The SwitchBot Plug Mini supports Energy Monitoring in the SwitchBot app. Energy monitoring is not enabled over Matter. Due to the compact design, it won’t block other sockets. It also acts as a bluetooth repeater for up to 10 SwitchBot Bluetooth devices, allowing you to increase your range in which the SwitchBot products can be placed throughout the house. The SwitchBot Plug Mini is available for €19,99, but a 30% discount is currently bringing the price down to €13,99 on Amazon and the SwitchBot website.
