SwitchBot launches AI MindClip and Lock Ultra Max during IFA 2026

SwitchBot IFA

SwitchBot is introducing two new products at IFA 2026: the wearable AI MindClip and the SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max Vision Pro Combo. The AI MindClip turns conversations into transcripts, summaries and tasks, while the new smart lock combination provides faster and more flexible unlocking through features including facial and palm vein recognition. Both products are announced on 3 September 2026 and demonstrated at booth H1.2-146 during IFA.

SwitchBot AI MindClip turns conversations into tasks

The SwitchBot AI MindClip is a compact recorder that attaches to a collar, shirt, jacket or bag strap. It measures 50 × 29 × 18.5mm and weighs 16.8 grams. A sliding switch starts and stops recordings, while an indicator light shows when the device is recording.

According to SwitchBot, the MindClip can record continuously for more than 20 hours and remain on standby for over 40 days. Its 64GB of internal storage can hold up to 5,000 hours of recordings. The microphone has a specified range of three metres. This makes the device particularly suitable for meetings, interviews, study notes and ideas you want to capture while on the move.

Recordings are converted into transcripts, summaries, key points and tasks in the accompanying app and web interface. Speaker recognition is intended to identify who said what. The results are organised into sections including a timeline, daily memory, weekly overview and task list. Tasks can then be synchronised with Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and Reminders.

Ask AI lets you search previous conversations using natural language. You could, for example, retrieve a decision made during an earlier meeting. The MindClip uses AI technology from Qwen and other language models. Transcripts can also provide context for other AI tools, making spoken information easier to incorporate into your existing workflow.

You can start, pause and stop recordings using either the device or the app. Recordings, transcripts, summaries and tasks can be viewed and deleted in the app. SwitchBot also mentions encrypted pairing, secure file transfers and several privacy and security certifications. You should still inform everyone present before recording and follow the applicable local laws.

Lock Ultra Max Vision Pro Combo offers 19 unlocking methods

The SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max Vision Pro Combo consists of the new Lock Ultra Max, the Keypad Vision Pro and a Hub Mini Matter Enabled. The smart lock fits over the existing lock on the inside of the door. In many cases, this means you do not have to replace the cylinder or make permanent modifications to the door.

The Lock Ultra Max measures 122 × 62.6 × 66.8mm and weighs 391 grams. Its brushless motor reaches up to 160 revolutions per minute and is, according to SwitchBot, 3.2 times faster than the motor inside the Lock Ultra. In its fastest mode, unlocking takes approximately 1.1 seconds under laboratory conditions. A quieter mode is also available for use during the evening or at night.

The Keypad Vision Pro supports 3D facial recognition, contactless palm vein recognition, fingerprints, PIN codes and NFC cards. For facial recognition, the keypad projects more than 30,000 infrared points. Depth detection is intended to prevent someone from using a photograph or video to fool the system. Infrared lighting also allows recognition to work in low-light conditions. SwitchBot says biometric data is processed and stored locally.

SwitchBot claims that the complete system supports up to 19 unlocking methods. In addition to its biometric options, PIN codes and NFC, these include the SwitchBot app, remote control, voice commands, a smartwatch, widgets, automatic unlocking through geofencing, a physical key and the SwitchBot Remote.

The rechargeable 4,200mAh main battery should last approximately nine months. A separate CR123A backup battery provides around 95 days of standby time or roughly 500 locking and unlocking operations. A supercapacitor can provide enough power for up to four additional rotations. The Keypad Vision Pro has its own battery, with a claimed battery life of up to 12 months.

Compatibility, pricing and availability

SwitchBot claims compatibility with 99 per cent of European locks, including Euro profile cylinders and thumb-turn cylinders. Swiss round cylinders, UK oval cylinders and certain other lock types require additional adapters or brackets.

The included Hub Mini Matter Enabled provides remote access and exposes the lock to compatible platforms through Matter over Bridge. Supported platforms include Apple Home and Home Assistant. The SwitchBot app displays information including the door status, battery levels, notifications and event history.

The SwitchBot AI MindClip is available from 3 September through the official SwitchBot website. It has a recommended retail price of $119.99/£119.99/€119,99. The service includes 300 minutes of transcription and AI processing per month, with paid subscriptions required for additional minutes.

The SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max Vision Pro Combo is available to order from the SwitchBot store from 3 September and expected to be available on Amazon soon. It has a recommended retail price of €339.99. During the launch period, SwitchBot will include an additional year of Max Service at no extra cost. Both products will be demonstrated at IFA in Berlin from 4 to 8 September 2026.
