Govee has launched the Holiday Pattern Projector Light (model H3860), an outdoor projector that is not tied to a single holiday. Instead of one fixed Christmas pattern you get sixteen interchangeable projection discs spread across six festival themes, plus a set of everyday decorative patterns. That lets you dress up your garden or front door for Halloween, Christmas and a birthday with the same unit. A second layer of RGBW light sits behind the pattern and adds a nebula-style effect. The projector also works with Matter over Wi-Fi, so you can add it straight to most smart home platforms without a bridge.
Sixteen discs, six festival themes and 71 scenes
The disc system is the heart of the H3860. You slide a disc into the projector and combine that pattern with the RGBW nebula behind it, which Govee says adds up to 71 scene modes in the app. The bundled themes cover Halloween, Christmas and birthdays among others, alongside more neutral patterns you can leave running year-round. An adjustable focus ring keeps the pattern sharp at whatever distance you pick, and the projection head rotates up to 180 degrees so you can light a facade or a fence. The practical upshot: you do not need a second projector when the season changes.

Range, brightness and weather resistance
Govee quotes a projection distance of up to roughly 10 metres (32 feet) and coverage of up to 1,500 square feet, around 140 square metres. Light output is 55 lumens at 24 watts. That is enough for a crisp pattern once it is properly dark, but do not expect it to cut through dusk or a nearby street light. The projector itself is IP67-rated and works between -20 and 40 degrees Celsius (-4 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit), so winter is not an issue. Watch the power adapter, though: it is only IP44, so it belongs somewhere dry and sheltered. Both a ground stake and a fixed base are in the box for mounting on the ground, a wall or a patio.
Matter over Wi-Fi and availability
The H3860 has been listed in the Matter certification database since March 2026 as a Matter-over-Wi-Fi device, under certificate CSA261GDMAT51293-24. It does not support Thread. In practice that means you add it directly to Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa or Home Assistant, while the Govee app itself connects over Bluetooth for disc settings and syncing several units. Voice control through Alexa and Google Assistant works separately from that. If you want to revisit how these protocols differ, our explainer on Matter, Thread, Zigbee and Wi-Fi covers it.
Govee sells the projector for $149.99 in the United States. There is no confirmed European price yet, although the model is turning up in European Amazon stores. It fits the wider Matter push the brand has made this year, including the new Matter lighting Govee showed at IFA 2026.
