Reolink has launched the Reolink OMVI 2i Ultra, a wire-free security camera that puts two cameras in one housing and adds a built-in solar panel. A fixed wide-angle lens keeps the big picture, while a second, movable camera follows people, vehicles and animals. It works without a subscription, and it is on sale now.

Two cameras with SyncTrack tracking
The OMVI 2i Ultra combines a bullet camera with a pan-tilt camera. The wide-view camera records at 8MP (4K) and stays fixed on the overall scene. The pan-tilt camera has 5MP (3K) and can rotate 355 degrees. When the wide-view camera spots a person, vehicle or animal, the second camera aims at it and zooms in automatically.
Reolink calls this SyncTrack. Tracking continues even after the target leaves the wide-view camera’s field of view. You can also tap a spot in the wide-angle view in the app, and the pan-tilt camera turns to it. That means you do not have to choose between overview and detail. Detection runs on the device itself, backed by dual PIR sensors, a spotlight, a siren, and both infrared and color night vision.
Battery and solar panel
A 6W solar panel with Reolink’s SolarEase technology sits on the camera, which the company says charges 26 percent more efficiently. About 30 minutes of sun a day should be enough, including in low light or partial shade. The detachable battery is 10,000mAh and, according to Reolink, lasts up to six months, based on five minutes of recording per day plus all-day standby. The brand says comparable bullet-PT cameras manage about three months. These are manufacturer figures, so real-world results depend on how often the camera triggers and how much sun it gets.
Storage, subscription and assistants
You store footage locally on a microSD card of up to 512GB or on a Reolink Home Hub. Reolink says every feature works without a subscription or monthly fee. The camera supports up to 12 simultaneous streams and two-way audio, and works with Alexa and Google Assistant. Reolink does not mention Wi-Fi specifications, the IP weather rating or dimensions, so check those before picking an outdoor spot.
Price and how it compares
In the US the OMVI 2i Ultra costs $229.99 through Amazon and Reolink.com. Reolink has not given a European price or date yet. That places it between two other recent solar cameras. The Baseus PrimeSentinel U2 Pro costs $280 and has a fixed 3K camera plus a second, movable camera with a tracking spotlight, a 3W solar panel and IP65 protection. The Wyze Solar Cam Pan is far cheaper at $79.98, but has a single 2K lens, a 1.8W panel and tracks people only.
If you already use a Reolink Home Hub or care about local storage, the Reolink OMVI 2i Ultra is a solar camera that combines overview and detail. If you want a Matter camera instead, read our piece on the UGREEN ID500 Pro, or see the Arlo Essential Solar for a cheaper option.
