These Robot Vacuums have native Matter support

Dreame X50 Ultra

With the iOS 18.4 update, expected in April this year, Apple will support Matter Robot Vacuums, as Smart Home Centre discovered and tested successfully with the SwitchBot S10. With this device type added to Apple HomeKit, it’s interesting to look into all robot vacuums with support for Matter, either promised, certified or actually implemented. Matter support can also vary between products, as some are certified with Matter 1.2 or 1.3 and some with Matter 1.4. While Matter version 1.2 allows changes in cleaning modes, start, pauze and return to dock, with Matter 1.4 you can also control the room(s) your robot vacuum needs to clean. Although there’s a growing list of robot vacuums with a Matter certification, most of them are not updated yet by the manufacturer. This means the user cannot create a Matter paring code until a firmware update enables this feature. As Home Assistant was the only platform with support for Matter robot vacuums, they probably didn’t see the urgency to push this update to users. With the upcoming iOS 18.4 update from Apple in April, this will probably change.

Robot Vacuums with Matter support

When talking about Matter support, there are typically two ways this can be implemented. Either via a hub as a on/off switch, which doesn’t utilize the official robot vacuum device type. The second way is native support, with no need for a brand-specific hub. Currently all robovacs available use Matter over WiFi to implement this. This will enable the official robot vacuum features implemented by Matter, either in version 1.2 or 1.4. This is the list of robot vacuums, either available or announced, with native Matter support:

SwitchBot

With the S10 Robot Vacuum, SwitchBot is the first brand to support Matter Robot Vacuums in Apple HomeKit. We’ve recently written an article about setting up Matter on the SwitchBot S10 and connecting it to Apple HomeKit with iOS 18.4 You can find a full overview of the current Matter status of SwitchBot Robot Vacuums below.

Roborock

Roborock already certified their S8 MaxV Ultra a year ago, but never actually updated the firmware of the device for uses to enable this feature. This is about to change with the support of Matter robot vacuums in Apple HomeKit, which allows a lot more users to actually integrate their robovac into their Smart Home platform. The S8 is Matter 1.2 certified, while all newer models work with version 1.4, allowing users to control the rooms to clean in Apple HomeKit.

On March 31st 2025, Roborock announced Matter support implementation for several models, which is reflected in the table below. Most models are expected to receive a firmware update early April. This includes the Roborock Saros 10 and Roborock Saros 10R and the Saros Z70, which features a robotic arm and is expected later this year.

Eufy

Eufy has one robot vacuum with support for Matter, the Eufy Omni S1. While it’s Matter 1.3 certified, no extra functionality is available compared to Matter 1.2.

Smart Home Centre reached out to Eufy regarding their current support for Matter. Eufy told us they “identified certain challenges related to protocol compatibility and practical application of Matter integration. To ensure that every feature we offer meets the highest standards of quality and users satisfaction, we have decided not to roll out Matter support for the eufy Omni S1 Pro at this time.” While Matter already works for the Eufy Omni S1, this response indicates Matter support can’t be expected any time soon for the Eufy Omni S1 Pro.

The RV30 Max RV30 Max Plus already works over Matter, it’s currently unclear when this Matter support will be available for the other two models.

Wrap-up Matter support Robot Vacuums

As of now, there are about 25 different robot vacuums, either available or announced, with Matter support. Not all of them are already Matter certified, so for some models you still need to have some patience. Even when certified, the manufacturer still needs to push a firmware update before you can actually use the functionality. As of now, this is only the case with the SwitchBot S10. The SwitchBot K10+ Pro Combo firmware update is expected soon, which is also the case for the new Saros 10 and 10R from Roborock. We will update this article as soon as new robovacs are certified or firmware updates are available. If you like to have control over the rooms with Matter, you can take a look at the robot vacuums with Matter 1.4 support. Matter 1.2 and 1.3 only have control over cleaning modes, switching between vacuum and vacuum & mop and start/stop/return to dock.

Smart Home Centre has reached out the all manufacturers mentioned in this article. We’ve asked several questions regarding the current vacuums of their product line with Matter support, whether any existing or future models will gain Matter support and confirmation regarding room control with Matter version 1.4. Currently, we only received a response from Eufy, which we’ve included in the article. We will update you in this article as soon as any new information is available to us.
